The Coronavirus has forced us to restrict activities requiring close contact to family groups only. Apart from this, working parties and help from individuals are still maintained every Tuesday morning. It's not only a time to carry out routine care and maintenance of all the flower beds and displays, but a chance to meet (at 2 metres!) with our friends and passers-by to catch up with the local gossip. We have even been known prior to Coronavirus to retire to the Library or Methodist Cafe after a morning's work to quench a well earned thirst. When things are again back to normal you will find us there!

Volunteers are always welcome to join us, even if it's only for the occasional morning. At planting times, we are grateful for all the help we can get. Some volunteers adopt a flower bed or planter and take on the general maintenance at a time convenient to them.

SIB is a very friendly and welcoming organization. If you would like to get involved with physical work, administration, plant design or in organizing fund raising events, please contact a committee member.

We are still hoping to set up Saturday or ad hoc groups in the near future to spread the work and collaboration throughout the community. Our job list is wide ranging and to cover any aspect via new recruits would be great. Please contact Debbie Potter or Norman Taylor if you can help.

Great News. In 2016/21 we have had five new volunteers wishing to tidy up beds in their own time. See the FOSIB donation letter for more opportunities here.
